A former elementary school principal, author Dr. P.J. Nickels also uses her
extensive background in education as the curriculum coordinator for Pennie
Rich Publishing.
All of the books in her children’s series have interactive lesson guides,
which are aligned to the U.S. National Standards of Learning and the Key
Stages of Learning in the UK.
Dr. Nickels holds a double Master’s Degree in Linguistics and English as a Second Language and a Doctorate of Ministry in Education. She was a classroom Spanish/ESL Teacher, a School Administrator, worked for the Colo. Department of Education as a Teacher of Teachers, Curriculum Consultant, Grant Reader and was on the Spanish Bias and State Standardized Testing committees. She is also a member of the Adams State College Presidents Honor Society and has worked as an Adjunct Professor in the ASC Education Department.
Mother of six, grandmother of seven, Dr. Nickels was born in Rhode Island and currently lives in Colorado with her author husband. In addition to her passion for literacy and languages, her other interests are family, travel, animals, environment, music, singing and cooking.
